PrimeSense Pair-Up Game Instructions

PLAYERS: 2-5      AGES: 4+      TIME: 10-15 minutes

OBJECTIVE

The goal of the game is to collect pairs of matching PrimeSense™ cards.

SETUP

Use the Intellivance PrimeSense™ deck which includes 48 cards with numbers from 1 to 12, each appearing four times.

Shuffle the deck and deal 5 cards to each player if there are 4 or more players. If there are only 3 players, deal 7 cards to each.

GAME PLAY

The player to the dealer’s left goes first. Players take turns clockwise.

On your turn, ask any other player for a specific card (e.g., “Do you have any 11s?”). You must have at least one card of that number in your hand.

If the player you ask has the card, they must give it to you. If not, you “Draw” by picking the top card from the deck.

When you collect a pair of matching number cards, place them face up in front of you.

WINNING

The game continues until all pairs are collected. The player with the most pairs of cards wins.

ADVANCED GAME PLAY

To advance the difficulty level, players collect four cards of the same number instead of pairs. The goal is to have the most sets of four-of-a-kind to win.

Concepts and Skills

PRIME & COMPOSITE NUMBERS

Prime Number: Can ONLY be divided by itself and 1

Composite Number: Can be divided by itself, 1 and at least one other divisor

Prime Numbers are the building blocks of all whole numbers.  Every number across the number line is either a prime number or composed of primes.

At Intellivance we visually represent each prime number as a single symbol (or character).  Each composite number demonstrates the primes it is made of and displays all the possible factor combinations within that composite number.
